Dr. Ben Carson, the neurosurgeon, is a candidate for the Republican nomination for president: Yes, I started with clarinet and went to trumpet and then I wound up with baritone and euphonium. I was actually pretty good. I won a scholarship to Interlochen (a well-known arts institute in Michigan).
