The following is the Keynote speech given by composer Kevin Volans during CMC's international conference, The Listening Crowd, at NUI Galway on 13 June 2016. The conference took place as part of the International Association of Music Information Centres (IAMIC), which CMC hosted, and was attended by delegates from IAMIC and the Irish music sector.
